About URAL: Travel Intelligence, Not a Travel Agency

URAL is an independent outbound-travel desk in Dhaka. It publishes flight-fare guidance in Bangladeshi Taka, visa checklists built from official sources, Umrah and Hajj planning material, and trip budgets a family in Bangladesh can compare against its own income. It does not sell tickets, and it does not process visa applications.

Who writes it

Every guide on this site is written and edited by Farhan Momen, founder and travel editor. URAL is a single-editor publication, not a content farm: the same person researches the visa rule, prices the flights in BDT, and answers the WhatsApp messages when a reader disagrees with something on the page. That is unusual for a travel site, and it is the main reason the information here is dated and sourced rather than endlessly reworded from somewhere else.

How the guides are researched

Each guide starts with the authority that actually decides the question — an immigration department, an embassy, an airline's own baggage policy, or a government portal — and works backwards to the traveller. Where the official position is unclear, the page says so instead of choosing an answer that sounds confident. Where sources disagree, both are given with their dates.

Visa and fee pages carry the date they were last checked, because these rules change without notice and a page that hides its age cannot be trusted on a topic this volatile. The visa-free countries guide for Bangladeshi passports is the clearest example of the approach: it separates the destinations a Bangladeshi passport can genuinely use from the much longer list that only looks usable, because reaching those places requires transiting a country that requires a visa.

Prices are published as planning estimates in BDT, not as quotes. Fares, hotel rates and fees move constantly, and the pages say so rather than presenting a snapshot as a promise.

How URAL is funded

Some outbound links are affiliate links. If you book a hotel, an eSIM or an airport transfer through one of them, the partner pays URAL a commission and you pay exactly the same price. That is the entire revenue model — there is no sponsored content, no paid placement inside a guide, and no airline or hotel that can pay to change what a page says. The arrangement is disclosed in full in the footer of every page and in the privacy and cookie policy.

Because the commission comes from the booking rather than from advertising, the incentive is to write pages that are accurate enough to be worth returning to.

Correcting mistakes

Travel rules are exactly the kind of information that goes stale quietly, and a wrong visa detail can cost someone a denied boarding rather than an inconvenience. If a page here is wrong, the fastest correction is a message to the support desk — the WhatsApp number and the form both reach the same person who writes the pages. Corrections are made to the page itself rather than appended as a note, and the verification date is updated with them.

Bengali and English

URAL publishes in both Bengali and English, and Bengali pages are written for Bengali readers rather than machine-translated from the English. The English edition is currently the more complete of the two: Bengali coverage is being brought to full parity section by section, starting with destination itineraries, visa rules and trip costs, because those are the pages a Bengali reader searches for first.

Where a Bengali page is a summary rather than a full translation, it is a summary by design and not a translation of the research. This page states that plainly because a reader planning around a visa rule or a fee needs to know how much of the detail they are getting.

Where to start

Contact

URAL is a small desk, not a call centre. WhatsApp is the fastest route, on +880 1784-385335, and the contact form reaches the same inbox.
